I've added a photo of someone to my address book on the Mac and synced it my iPhone, but the photo doesn't show up. Am I doing something wrong? Surely I don't have to take the photo with the iPhone itself in order to use it in the address book?

Also, is it possible to sync the Thunderbird and Mac address books? Right now I've been entering data in Thunderbird, then exporting it and importing it into the Mac address book. It works, but I have to explicitly do it.

I don't know about the file sizes involved but have sometimes found that a photo which displays perfectly well in one app is unnoticeably small in another.

Mac OS X Address Book integration is on the list as a "nice to have" feature for Thunderbird 3.0. Apparently the feature is already implemented, so it probably will make it in.

FWIW, Address Book accepts vcards (.vcf), so if you can export those, manual syncing may not be that bad.

When you look at the person's contact info on the iPhone, do you see this picture next to their name?

Hey, it's there now! I swear, when I was trying it last night, the picture wasn't showing up. Thanks for the electronic laying on of hands!
