Five things

1. Went to the California Native Plant Society's wildflower show. The display was excellent this year, what with all the warm weather + rain we've been having. How is it that I've never encountered Lindley's Blazing Star before? It's not a flower one is likely to miss, being bright gold and 1-2 inches across.
2. Bought what looks to be a very useful keying guide for CA wildflowers, yet another CA wildflower book, and a couple of plants. I really must get out on a wildflower walk sometime soon.
3. Made a fast & delicious soup from roasted squash, leftover red pepper spread, a bit of broth, and a dash of Rogan Josh seasoning from Penzey's.
4. Went to an 'un-memorial' service for an MG friend. She and her husband had been planning to have the gathering of family, friends, and coworkers while she was still alive and able to see everyone as well. Unfortunately, the timing didn't quite work out. But it was still a lovely gathering.

spikeiowa and voidampersand at Mezcal in San Jose, where they serve very tasty Oaxacan food. Not your standard taqueria.
