The party's over

The smoked turkey came out quite fine, to great acclamation. Possibly a new tradition is born. Or maybe it should only be an occasional treat. In some ways it was actually easier than the chicken thighs that I've generally done in the past.

The dining room floor looked like someone had been dancing on it with muddy shoes, but that's been washed now, along with the foyer, kitchen, and utility room floors, not to mention all of the dishes (oy!) that have also been washed, and the tablecloths, and the tables, etc.

Party highlight -- Jupiter gazing on the front sidewalk with the magnificent telescope Ctein brought. I didn't manage to see the impact cloud, but I saw a better view of Jupiter (and moons!) than I ever have before. I love that we have the sort of friends that will bring a telescope to a party, and that a big group will gather around and appreciate it.
