Newton, KS
Dec. 7th, 2007 07:53 pmI'm driving to Arizona with my dad, on his annual snowbird trip. We started this morning at my sister's house in Montevideo, MN, 8:30 a.m., 1 degree above zero. Tonight we stopped at 7 p.m. in Newton, KS, just above freezing with a misty drizzle falling. Bummer. We made great progress but really hoped to be out of the freezing rain. It's going to be nasty for the first hour or so tomorrow, but hopefully no longer.
Tomorrow: Oklahoma, Texas (very briefly), and New Mexico.
I asked many questions about cattle farming and cell phone technology. I am much wiser now. We saw pheasants, deer, and the sparkling remnants of an ice storm. (Note to
spikeiowa -- I had blueberry pie for lunch at Emily's Family restaurant.)
