Photoshop and my Mac hate each other
Jan. 5th, 2007 12:27 pmSo I launch Photoshop last night and get a pop up saying it has a fatal error and must be reinstalled. Ditto Illustrator. Hmm, something to do with that last Apple update?
So I try to reinstall it, and it says it can't, I have to uninstall it. How do I do that? Help file says tos see the "How to Uninstall" document on the CD. Except it isn't there. Hmmph. Okay, search on the net. Oh, it's easy, people say, just drag the folder to the trash. Except there are other files hidden elsewhere that have to be deleted too. Grump. Find them, delete them too. Delete everything that says Adobe for good measure.
Now the installer is satisfied that it can reinstall Photoshop. Except ... it can't! It gets all the way to the end, then announces that the installation failed, try again. WTF?
Update: I rebooted the machine and the install worked this time. Coincidencidental or causal? Who knows? At least, I've got Photoshop & Illustrator back, though why they stopped working in the first place is a mystery.
