I’ve finished my 2005 desk calendar. Yes, I know, most people just buy them. But they’ve stopped making (or at least local stores have stopped carrying) the style I’ve fallen in love with. See, if you take a CD case and swing the lid back as far as it goes then set it down, you’ll see that it forms a nice little stand. These calendars used a CD case (sans CD insert) as described to hold month at a time pages. They were perfect for me.
So last year, when I couldn’t find a replacement, I decided to make my own (I’ve got Photoshop, Illustrator, and an exacto knife, and I’m not afraid to use them!). Last year I used astronomicals from the wonderful Astronomy Picture of the Day site. This year I used some of the pictures we took when we visited Koekenhof, near Amsterdam, a few years ago. It was spring, the weather was perfect, and the flowers were glorious.
