And I had harvested well just before leaving, honest! I made plum butter with the plums and took most of the rest of the produce to a local homeless shelter.
Such cute little patty pan squash and lovely cucumbers. I'm sure the shelter appreciated it Oh gosh, and now I'm homesick for your kitchen, seeing the tiles.
*sigh* The only things I've been able to harvest so far are alpine strawberries. Much is due to what a late start I got, I know, but now I have weather envy -- something that doesn't happen much with me v. California.
I have two cucumbers that might be ready in a few weeks, and when the Spacemaster (gotta love that name!) gets going, I'm going to be hip deep in the things, but that will not be before some time in August. Ditto ripe tomatoes, but it looks like I'll have a bunch when they finally get there. Meanwhile my cauliflower seems to be Very Happy. As per my usual luck, the coriander has gone leggy and gone to seed without doing very much.
Coriander always goes to seed quickly for everybody, so you're not alone. Try the Slow-Bolt variety from Renee's (the fact that there's a variety called that is a Major Clue). I'm not a cilantro fan, so I don't grow, but folks say that one really is better -- still bolts, just not quite as fast. It's also good to succession plant it about every 3 weeks to ensure a constant supply.
It is actually comforting that it's Not Just Me. I will seek out the Slow-Bolt variety (yeah, a bigass clue that), and try succession planting next time out, 'cause I loves me some coriander. Ya can't make a good aji sauce without it!
