Dance of Peace

For the last year or so, I've occasionally seen a young woman dancing by herself on various street corners, including, I'm delighted to say, at the end of my block. I particularly like it when she dances on the Planned Parenthood corner, such a welcome antidote to the anti-abortion protesters who often set up there. She has a sign saying, "Dance of Peace." A school project, I've wondered? A dance student, doing performance art? A political statement? I've meant to go back and ask, but then I get home, take the groceries in, etc., and forget to do it.
But yesterday, she was on the corner while I was stopped at the light right next to her, so I seized my chance. It seems to be, hmm, a spiritual calling? Whatever one calls it, she's making people smile and think, and that's got to be making the world a better place. It certainly makes me happy to know she's out there dancing.
