It dawned on me yesterday that I was moving differently. For over 20 years I've had a minor ache in my lower back. It was usually not impairing, just something I would rub at and stretch out a bit, like a sore muscle. And it's gone now! I had developed certain habits of movements and stretching to relieve the constriction, but now when I stretch, there's nothing there.

Many years ago when I did bellydancing, I noticed that I couldn't slide my hips to the right as far as I could to the left. I'm not going to try it yet, but I'm curious if it too was related to that fibroid pressing on my spine. I'm also hoping that I'll find certain poses in yoga easier than they've been. The doctor said that the size of the uterus was equivalent to being 5 months pregnant and in certain poses (child's pose, particularly) I could never get comfortable, kept feeling like I couldn't breathe well.

Well, how nice that there are other positive benefits to being post-operative.

Wow, 20 years of feeling 'off'! It was never obvious to your belly dancing fans, though. I'm glad things are improved and you are doing so well. Hooray!
