12 happy days

pantryslut  has elevated the 8 happy days meme to a seasonally appropriate 12 happy days. I like it. The idea is to post one happy thing per day. So today's happy entry: I found kite string!

You may not think this is a particularly happy thing, but it was more difficult than you might think. I didn't find it at a toy store. Oh no, it's not in season for them. I'd say to them, "But we're in California! We can fly kites year round!" But to no avail. HOWEVER, I finally thought to call a hobby store. They are no slaves to a mere calendar.

The reason I wanted kite string is that in the course of clearing out a closet, I've decided to donate 3 kites to a toys for tots program, but I wanted to include kite string with each of the kites. So I'm feeling both virtuous AND happy.
