Sorting through our foreign monies, I found some slightly elderly (1970's) UK coins and wondered if they're still acceptable. I'd assume that the "New Pennies" are just as good as the current "One Pennies". But what about the old and now over-sized 5 and 10 new pence coins? And the heptagonal 50 new pence piece that is slightly bigger than the current ones?
Even if they are still legal tender, I may just shuffle them off into our 'antique money' bin to keep from confusing ourselves with the extra sizes.
