Effective cough solutions
Feb. 8th, 2009 05:14 pmI've been keeping myself awake coughing the past two nights, only getting a few hours of sleep which, you know, can't be helping in the recovery process. So I went off in search of effective cough solutions. Most cough syrups are deemed ineffective, what a surprise. I've been doing the honey/lemon/rum thing, but with limited success. I came across an intriguing claim that dark chocolate is a cough suppressant. Well, I had to try it, didn't I, for research purposes. But it caused a throat tickle right as I finished it. Dang, cross that one off the list. Codeine is effective, but only available as a prescription. But hey, Vicodin is related to codeine and was originally developed as a cough suppressor. Bingo! I have leftover Vicodin, I know I tolerate it well, it makes me a little drowsy which is a plus at bedtime, and it's supposed to stop this dang tickle coughing. I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight!
