DMV, "Lost in the mail"
Jun. 12th, 2007 04:17 pmYesterday I got a letter from the DMV. But it was to renew my drivers license, not my car license plates. This caused me to realize that I never had received a notice for the latter this year, so I called them up today. They claim it must have been lost in the mail. Huh, funny thing how so many DMV notices get lost in the mail. I mean, they even have a menu item in their phone tree for people who need to renew but haven't received their notices. How nice of them to set that up for these rare cases.
Luckily for me, today (!) was the due date for my registration, so I don't incur a late fee (insult to injury). And, funny thing, they have a way for people who don't have notices in hand to pay anyway. (But no, they will not reprint the missing notice for my records.)
