Brrrr

It's a cold one tonight, predicted to get down to 26 degrees. I know, no big deal for most people. But we spent a while scurrying around here this afternoon, picking peas, covering lettuce, picking and covering citrus, bringing tender potted plants inside. The cabbage family (broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, kale) and chicory family (frisee & escarole) should be fine even at those temps. We'll see what the morrow brings.

With any luck, the freeze will kill off the Giant Mexican whiteflies that have been infecting the hibiscus. Probably killing off the hibiscus too, but that's okay, they'll resprout from the roots. Death to whiteflies!
