spikeiowa and John B. It was marvelous. Also marvelous, even though it kept us from getting to the pre-concert talk as we had intended, was the magnificent lightning storm we watched while driving up the peninsula. I saw more lightning in that single hour of driving than I have the rest of the 12 years I've lived here! I miss Midwestern thunder & lightning storms terribly.
Today M. & I had a lovely lunch withathenais at a Pakistani/Indian restaurant in Santa Clara called Zafran. The food was good (could have been spicier but still had plenty of interesting flavor), and the naan was delivered hot to the table by waiters who were anxious to replace it even more often than we wanted. Yum.
My latest exciting project has been to inventory my various food holdings -- pantry, refrigerator, refrigerator freezer, and deep freeze. Many interesting discoveries have come to light already (only a few of which so far have involved contributions to the compost bin). I have a hope (forlorn, perhaps, but one must dream) that I will then post these lists in the appropriate places, use them to make menus, cross off items used, and write in items added. Well, it could happen!
