This morning I industriously:

1. Made mulled wine figs and froze 4 pkgs thereof. (Quarter figs, tuck in cinnamon sticks plus a cheesecloth bag of cloves & allspice, pour some red wine over, bake until liquid has become nicely syrupy. Yes, the fig bush is still in production mode. Why do you ask?)

2. Blanched & froze beans -- the last from the garden, alas.

3. Made a small batch of succotash, thereby using up the ear of roasted corn languishing in the fridge, not to mention the more mature limas and other beans.

4. Roasted a batch of peppers, onions & garlic (still in the oven, but to be packed & frozen eventually).

Wow, with a morning like that, what might I accomplish this afternoon?!? (Probably nothing, just collapse from exhaustion.) However, I must cook eggplant for dinner. There is much eggplant in the garden, recently revealed when I cut down the aphid & white fly infested kale. Grilled eggplant with roasted peppers & onions perhaps? I know where there's some roasted peppers & onions....
