A tiny mystery

We dropped off a Netflix DVD in the late afternoon at a postbox on Monday, 1/19. That was the MLK holiday. No mail delivery. And, we presumed, no pick up.

Tuesday morning, dated 4:32 a.m., I received an acknowledgement from Netflix that they received the DVD.

That's a little spooky! The Post Office must have been doing collection & processing on Monday anyhow. But it's still scary fast!

But even so, that's delivery in less than 12 hours! We dropped it off at 4:30 p.m., they picked up, processed it, and delivered it to Netflix, who then processed it and sent an acknowledgement by 4:30 a.m. Pretty amazing, imho.
